The 1864 journal of Antioch student Cornelia “Nellie” Van Mater, daughter of a College trustee caught up in the sectarian Christian-vs-Unitarian conflict over Antioch’s control — described by archivist Tina Ratcliff as capturing “a feminine culture in transition.”
