Archival snapshot of the Antioch College announcement “College Takes Decisive Budget Action” (June 23, 2020), captured from antiochcollege.edu on July 7, 2026. Citing COVID-19 disruption, the Board of Trustees adopted a FY2021 budget cutting spending by $2.5 million (over 20%), eliminating eight furloughed non-teaching staff positions and six faculty positions through retirements and negotiated departures, with President Tom Manley calling the steps “painful and regrettable.” Notable for its emphasis on a deliberative process with faculty — contrast with later governance disputes. Preserved because the college may remove the original; a link post also exists on this site.
