Reuben T. Harris ’69, of Keene, New Hampshire, earned his B.S. in Engineering at Antioch College,
his M.B.A. from the University of Rochester, and his Ph.D. in Business (Organizational Behavior) from
Stanford University.
Harris has spent most of his career in academia studying, writing, and teaching about the dynamics
of organizations undergoing change and about the factors which contribute to successful change strategics.
He has served on the faculties of the University of California (Berkeley), Massachusetts Institute of
Technology, and the Naval Postgraduate School (Monterey, CA). Harris was also an International Senior
Lecturer at the Irish Management Institute in Dublin, Ireland, from 1980 to 1991. He co-authored the book,
Organizational Transitions: Managing Complex Change, and has authored numerous articles for academic
and professional journals. He has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science
and the Academy of Management Review.
In 2001, Harris left his position as Dean of the Graduate School of Management and Public Policy at
the Naval Postgraduate School to become Vice Chairman of C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc., one of the largest
grocery wholesalers in the U.S. His other experiences outside of academia include a six-year stint as Vice
President of Research and Development with The Tom Peters Group in Palo Alto, CA, from 1985-1991.
Additionally, since 1971 he has also been an Organization and Management Consultant to a number of
organizations in industry, health care, and education. Some of his clients have included: AT&T, Apple
Computer, California Department of Justice, General Electric, Hewlett-Packard, Procter and Gamble, U.S.
National Institutes of Health, and the U.S. Postal Service.
Harris was elected to the Antioch College Alumni Association Board of Directors in 1995 and served
as the Association’s Vice President (1999-2001) and then as President (2001-2003), serving as an ex-qfficio
member of the Antioch University Board of Trustees during that time.

Hal received his B.A. in Social Science from Antioch College before going on to study law at the
University of Chicago. He earned a MCRP in 1965 in City and Regional Planning from the
University of Southern California.
An urban planner, Hal is currently Executive Director, of the Coachella Valley Enterprise Zone
which offers businesses within its boundaries special state income tax incentives in order to assist
an economically challenged region. Prior to this, he was’Principal of the Joseph Co., a planning and
commercial real estate organization. From 1966 to 1982 Hal was Director of Planning and Director
of Marketing for George S. Nolte and Associates, Consulting Engineers, a professional firm in San
Jose, CA. From 1959 to 1966, he served as Planning Director for the City of West Covina, CA, and
from 1956 to 1959 he served various roles beginning with a job working for the City Planning
Department of Palm Springs, CA. He quickly became Senior Planner for the City Planning
Department in Riverside. Joseph has extensive experience in the fields of Urban Planning,
Corporate Marketing and Commercial Real Estate.

In 1965, Jeff joined the M.W. Kasch Company, a toy distributor, which had been founded
by his father in 1934. He began as a purchasing agent then served in sales, the
distribution center, and middle management. In 1971, he was named President of the
company. Two large distribution centers in Milwaukee and Ontario, CA, consisting of
750,000 square feet, served 4,000 locations in 40 states supplying 15,000 items in Toys,
Stationery, School Supplies and Hobbies to food and drug retailers. In 1972, he was
named CEO and served in that capacity until the sale of the Company in 1999.
Since the conclusion of his career at the Kasch Company, he has served as a business
consultant, continues to be heavily involved in philanthropic and community work,
manages an investment and real estate portfolio, and serves as a partner and director of
Forum Capital Partners, a management and investment company. After graduating from
Antioch in ’65, he served in the US Army Medical Service Corp and in 1975 attended the
Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School.

Niels retired in December 1994 from the American Phosphate Export
Association (a Web-Pomerene Act organization) as Vice President,
Marketing. Prior to his thirteen years with the Association, he spent twenty
years with International Minerals & Chemical Corporation, Northbrook,
Illinois, and seven years with the Chase Manhattan Bank in Japan.
A 1954 graduate of Antioch College, he received an MBA from the
Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago in 1964.
He was a member of the Antioch College Alumni Association Board from
1991 to 1997. He currently serves on the boards of Cardinal Ritter High
School, Indianapolis, and the English-Speaking Union, Indianapolis
Chapter.

Jack practiced internal medicine with the Williamstown Medical Associates, a multi-specialty group of
22 physicians in western Massachusetts for nearly thirty years. He left clinical practice to enroll in the
graduate program at Antioch New England, and received a MS degree in management in 1996. A
graduate of Williams College, he received a medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1957,
and post-graduate training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and New York Hospital-Cornell Medical
Center. He was a Rockefeller Foundation Fellow in Preventive Medicine at Makerere Medical College
in Kampala, Uganda, in 1962-63. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and continues
to maintain active membership in the Massachusetts Medical Society and the American Geriatrics
Society.
Currently, he is Chairman of MountainOne (a mutual holding company with banking, insurance and
brokerage interests) and CSR Corporation which operates a nursing facility in Bennington Vermont.
He is active in community affairs, and is a second-term Selectman in Williamstown. Jack is past chair
of the Board of Directors of the Williamstown Savings Bank and serves on the Boards of the
VNA/Hospice of Northern Berkshire, the SEE (Sustaining Educational Excellence) Fund (an
endowment for Mount Greylock Regional High School), and REACH (a community-based healthcare
foundation). An interest in conservation has led to trusteeships in the New Hampshire Lakes
Association, the Lakes Region Conservation Trust, and the Bear Island Conservation Association.
Jack is the author of several scientific papers, writes a weekly column on geriatric health issues for the
Berkshire Eagle, and is a contributing author/editor of Bear Island Reflections, a history of an island
community in New Hampshire.

Larry received a B.S. from Antioch College in 1964. In the next three years, he also earned a
M.S. and Ph.D. from Purdue.
Since 1984, Larry has worked for Metron, Inc., where he currently is the COO. Metron is a
consulting firm with offices in Reston, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Larry is located in the
Reston office and is responsible for developing new business and monitoring the financial
operations of the corporation. He is also a member of the technical staff, acting as project
manager and also as a technical staff member in projects managed by other people.
The firm specializes in defense (air strike control), commercial airlines (air traffic flow), and
sales distribution software that sets up sales regions by zip-code. Early on, Larry was involved in
planning search operations for the U.S. Navy. For several years he received contracts from the
Office of Naval Research to develop the theory of search and wrote a book, Theory of Optimal
Search, which was awarded the Operations Research Society’s Lanchester Prize. In 1988, Larry’s
computerized probability map was instrumental in locating the remains of the S.S. Central
America, which wrecked in 1857 in 8,000 feet of water off the coast of South Carolina. The
successful recovery included about a ton of gold.
Larry is a member of the Horace Mann and Arthur Morgan Societies.

Paula grew up in Yellow Springs, OH, and holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Antioch College as
well as a Ph.D. In Languages and Linguistics from the University of Rochester.
She retired in 2004 from her position teaching social medicine, cultural studies, and feminist theory
in the Institute of Communications Research, College of Medicine, and Women’s Studies Program
at the University of Illinois. She was also affiliated with the Campus Honors Program and the unit
for Criticism and Interpretive Theory.
Paula has held visiting faculty appointments at the University of Cincinnati, the University of Iowa,
the University of California at Santa Barbara, Tulane University, and served as a Senior Fellow in
the Society for the Humanities at Cornell University. She regularly gives lectures, workshops, and
seminars at academic institutions across and outside the United States, and has organized,
participated in, and attended countless academic conferences.
Paula has written books on various subjects, including the AIDS epidemic, feminist theory,
language and gender, language and medicine, as well as a linguistic analysis of women’s writing.
In 1995, she was honored for her research, teaching, and service with the University of Illinois
College of Medicine’s college-wide Faculty Member of the Year Award. In 1999 her scholarship
in communications and cultural studies was spotlighted at the annual meeting of the National
Communications Association. She received a Faculty Advisor Award from the Medical Scholars
Program Advisory Council in 2000. Paula is also Co-founder of what is now the Feminist
Scholarship Division of the International Communication Association.

Art was the Founder and President of Zucker Associates, Inc., a manufacturers representative
agency handling the marketing and sales of semiconductors and related electronic components.
Established in 1972 and based in Raleigh, NC, the company was the exclusive representative for
15 large and medium-sized electronics manufacturers located in the U.S., Asia, and Europe.
Sales and engineering support was provided to their customers – major original equipment
manufacturers located in the Southeastern U.S. The company was well respected in the
marketplace; most of its employees were technical professionals.
In recognition of the company’s growth and position, Art was appointed to Chair the Advisory
Councils of several companies diey represented. The councils’ function was to provide
assessment and strategic marketing direction to the senior executives. During Art’s career he was
also active in the Electronic Representatives Association (ERA), holding national office and
serving as a director. In addition, Art represented ERA on the board of the national Electronic
Distribution Show Corp. He retired from Zucker Associates in 1998.
Prior to ’72, Art was employed by General Instrument Corp. in marketing and sales management;
and previously with Raytheon and Square D Company.
Art is currently Chair, Past Presidents Comm. and Board member of Temple Beth Or, the Reform
Jewish synagogue in Raleigh; having previously served as President and Treasurer. Art and his
wife, Betty, are supporters of the N.C. Symphony, Raleigh’s Gallery of Contemporary Art, and
Kansas University. Art is a member of the Horace Mann and the Hugh Taylor Birch
Societies.

Tom was employed by the International Truck and Engine Corporation, formerly the
International Harvester Corporation, for forty years. He served as Process Development
Manager at the Sidney, Ohio, Product Development Center for next-generation vehicles. At the
time of his retirement in 2005, he was assigned to The Center for Manufacturing Excellence
serving four domestic and two international manufacturing facilities. Tom was also advisor to
the Director of Training and Education at the Springfield Assembly Plant and served on the
Diversity Council as a member and advisor.
Tom received a B A in Humanities and Management with a concentration in International
Business from Antioch University McGregor in 1998, and then went on to get his Masters in
Management from McGregor in 2002. He is a member of McGregor’s BOV, and served as
chairman of McGregor’s Renaissance Fund.
Tom has been active as an advisor/activist in the area of ADDS/HIV issues since 1988. He was
a member of the Clark County Combined Health Districts Task Force to design and implement
blood test sites. Tom worked with Congressman Dave Hobson to initiate legislation for the
Hobson AIDS Bill to provide comprehensive assistance to those in need. He also provides his
service to state organizations that support human rights and AIDS/HIV programs.

Born in Springfield, Ohio, Michael received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard College
and his master’s degree in education from The Ohio State University. He also attended a
doctoral program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He has historical ties to
Antioch College – his mother is a graduate of the College and his grandfather was VP and
Dean of Faculty.
Michael is a managing partner of Echo Bridge Entertainment, LLC, an independent sales
and distribution company with 250 employees that acquires filmed product for distribution
in theatrical, television, cable, satellite, and home video markets in the USA and throughout
the world. He formerly was Chairman and CEO of AverStar, Inc., an IT services company
with over 1800 employees.
Michael formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Titan Corporation (NYSE),
Pinelands, Inc. (NYSE), and the Board of Trustees of Bloomfield College. He also served
on the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Minority Interests in Media, The National
Urban League, and the Executive Committee of USA Network.
Michael’s interests include horseback riding, golf, creative writing, world and American

As President of the Antioch College Alumni Association, John joins the Board in an ex-
officio capacity. John graduated from Antioch College in 1970 with a BA in
Environmental Design. He went on to earn a Master’s in Landscape Architecture from
the University of Massachusetts.
Prior to his work with The Collaborative, John spent nineteen years as a professor in the
CU-Boulder School of Environmental Design. He served as Executive Director of the
Association of Historic Hotels and owned an Adobe brick manufacturing company,
hotels, restaurants, and an art gallery. He’s a painter and sculptor and the author of three

industries as well as Internet companies.

1988, he founded Anchor Communications, a publisher of regional and national travel magazines.
He served as CEO of Anchor for ten years. Prior to founding Anchor, he was CEO of Central Mass
Media, a publisher of newspapers and business publications in New England. He was the

Barbara is a professor in the School of Education and director of the Women’s Studies Program at
Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. An Antioch College alumna, she received her
PhD in women’s history from the University of Washington in Seattle. She is the author of Sylvia
Pankhurst: Sexual Politics and Political Activism (St. Martins, New York, 1996), as well as
numerous articles on teaching, women’s suffrage, women’s activism, and global feminism. Barbara
is in the process of writing a book about the women’s liberation movement. She has been the
executive director of the coordinating Council of Women in History, the secretary treasurer of the
Berkshire conference of Women Historians. She serves on the boards of the American Social History
Project, the Brooklyn Center for Urban Environment, and on the advisory board of the Center of
Defense Information. An avid tennis player on a 3.5 team which won the NYC championships in
1993, 1994, and came in second in 2001, the team was featured in the February 1994 Tennis
Magazine.
Barbara previously served as the Board’s Vice Chair. Her special interests include tennis, travel,
history, politics, and gardening.

Frances Bond of Baltimore, Maryland, received^her B.A. and M.Ed. from Towson State College in
Maryland. She went on to earn a Ph.D. in HumarivDevelopment, Guidance and Counseling, and
Research Methodology at the University of Maryland.
She began her career at Towson University teaching graduate and undergraduate courses. During her
tenure at Towson, she served/as Chairperson of the Early Childhood Department, Associate Director
of the Center for Applied Skills in Education, and Associate,Dean of the College of Education. In
1994, Frances left Towsotf’to work with the Peace Corps in Washington, D.C, where she assumed the
role of Associate Director of the Peace Corps Fellows Program-* In 1999, she moved into the position
of Special Assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Education, a position she held until 2001. She retired in
2004 as Director of Professional Development for PBS Ready To Learn.
Frances has served/on numerous regional and national boards and councils including the National
Association for Teacher Education, the Education of Young Children Review Board, the Governor’s
Council on Children and Youth in Maryland, and the Teacher Education^Advisory Board at Dundalk
and Essex Community Colleges.
She has received many grants and awards including the Frances T. Bond Distinguished Service
Award. This annual Service Award, established in her honor in 1996, recognizes the outstanding
service of an undergraduate and graduate student in education. She also received the Presidential
Award from Towson University, and in 2000 was honored by the University’s Graduate School and
the Center for Research, and the Greater Towson Partnership Committee with thVDistinguished
Lecture Series Award. This award is presented for Distinguished Achievement to Someone Who Has
Shaped Our Lives.”
