Board of Trustees Selection
1852 Art. 3 This institution shall be under the management of a court of 34 trustees.
Art. 10 Trustees shall be elected by owners of Scholarships, limited to ten(10)
votes per owner.
Art. 11 Two-thirds of the Board and a majority of the Board of Instruction shall at
all times be members of the Christian denomination.
1859 Art. 3 Board of Trustees composed of twenty persons, twelve(12) of whom shall
be members of the denomination of Christians and eight(8) shall always be
members of the Unitarian denomination of Christians.
1864 Art. 3 Amended to remove denominational restriction in the election of Trustees.
Board consisted of 20 members.
1920 Arthur Morgan elected President. Many members of the board resigned and were
replaced
1928 Board consisted of 28 members.
1930 Every third trustee shall be elected by the Administrative Council (ADCIL) of the
college. Trustees shall consist of 19 members.
1948 Board again 28 members. ADCIL still electing one of three trustees.
1956 28 board members, seven(7) members elected by Administrative Council
(ADCIL), six(6) by the Antioch Alumni Association (AAA), the remaining by the
board.
1972 MAJOR CHANGE. Antioch College Council (ACC) replaces Administrative
Council(ADCIL). Antioch College Council to elect seven(7) members to the
board, Antioch College Association (ACA) to elect six(6) members. The Antioch
College Council membership included parents, friends and other constituencies
but only ALUMNI members of ACA could vote on trustees, vacancies would be
selected by the original constituency. Terms were arranged so that approximately
one third of members elected by each electing authority would expire each year.
1974 Art. 7 Antioch College Council. Composition of Council described

4 elected from nominees of ALUMNI MEMBERS of Alumni-
Parent Association
13 elected by trustees from nominees other than those of
constituent units and Alumni-Parent Association
No employee of Antioch College or affiliated units eligible to serve.
1978 Name changed to ANTIOCH UNI VERSITY
Art. 4.
1. Nominating Committee shall present to the Board all nominations for
election to the Board of Trustees. AH trustees shall serve at large.
1988 Not less than 15 or more than 30 trustees.

2.2.2 President non-voting, ex-officio
2.2.3 President of Antioch University Alumni Association (AUAA) shall be a
voting, ex-officio member, unless such person is a University employee.
2.3.1 Trustees elected from among those persons recommended by the
Nominating Committee serve at large.
2000 2.2.1 Membership increased to 40. Current authorized number is 30.
2.2.3 Antioch University Alumni Association does not currently exist. Changed
to have President of the Antioch College Alumni Association a voting, ex-
officio member.
