Antioch College

Yellow Springs, OH 45387
AVote of Truth and Justice
WHEREAS the Chancellor of Antioch University made decisions that resulted in
our sister and other employees being sent home in fear of losing their jobs,
removing access to their workplace and email with no warning, explanation or
transparency, and resulted in communication being sent out in their names
without their knowledge or consent.
AND WHEREAS the Chancellor has provided a letter to our sister and other
employees with an inadequate explanation of why this was done, blaming the
action on a locksmith’s timing, and not even addressing the issue of theft of the
employees’ names.
AND WHEREAS the theft of one’s name is forgery, and subject to legal action.
AND WHEREAS our members, had they performed these actions, would be fired
for dishonesty, lying or forgery.
AND WHEREAS The Chancellor and the University Administration, while they
may have the power to manage the campus as they see fit, are not above the law.
THEREFORE, we, the members of UE Local 767, call upon the University Board
of Trustees to address this matter and demand that the Chancellor explain her
action and apologize for these secretive, unethical and illegal acts. We also ask
for a commitment from the University to act with transparency, honesty and
justice henceforth.
