The lead story of the final issue (April 15, 1954) of the Yellow Springs American, a short-lived weekly founded to counter Antioch’s progressive reputation — McCarthy-era accusations that the College harbored Communist sympathizers, whose publication caused advertisers to flee and the paper to fold.
